Henna Program Thursday June 25th, 7 pm

This looks a pretty good example of a design for our henna artist, Jodie Fleming, to use. It was created by SPLAT's artist Hailey A.! Good job, Hailey! Your design doesn't have to be as detailed. Remember, henna tattoos last about two weeks, so if you are going to be in a wedding or getting important pictures taken, watch where you put the tattoo.

The program is just for SPLAT teens. Who's a SPLAT teen? Anyone grades 7th through 12th that shows up!!

Game Day Tuesday - 1 - 2:30 pm

This is the only SPLAT this week. (I have an adult program Thursday night - it's about a cookbook, Farms and Foods of Ohio, and you are invited, but so is everyone else!)

Game Day: Guitar Hero - on PSII; Wii with ?? Sports, Dr. Mario, and Mario Kart 64 IF we get four Game Cube Controllers. Stepmania on the computer. And board games. If you have a favorite, bring it in - we own a few here at the library, too. If you want to bring other Wii or PSII games, that's also good.

Lavender Wands

SPLAT has volunteered to make lavender wands which will be used to scent the McPherson House during special events.

(I volunteered us.)

Fresh lavender stems are bent over lavender blossoms, and ribbon is woven around the stems to hold the blossoms in place.

Instructions.

Drama Program

We were very dramatic last night! I had fun! I hope you all did. Don't fall over, but I've been working on the videos - they should be posted on Youtube and (accessible from the right) before I leave work today!

There is a game night at the library Monday, starting at 6:30. I'm not in charge, but I'm planning on being there. For teens and adults. The group that met at the Dandylion need somewhere to go. Bring a game.

And, Tuesday. Game Day. That means Board Games, too. I'll take you all on in Boggle!!!

Gock Challenge

We'll be making Goth Sock Puppets in a couple weeks. Ryan has offered to create a puppet play, but I'd like to throw the challenge to all: take a fairy tale, like Cinderella, Red Riding Hood, etc., and rewrite it with Gothic Elements. Remember, this must be written as a script! Email a file to me.

SPLAT Begins

with a mystery. Our intrepid team of detectives lead by Sgt Obie (Daniel T.) managed to figure out 'who' murdered Lola LaPoufe by questioning our suspects, Ryan "Neil", Hailey "Betsey", Brooke "Jo", Alicia "Enid", and Jill "Hector". The 'how' remained a mystery! Morgan W. guessed murderer and motive and chose a 2 GB flash drive as her prize. Ryan S. won the general drawing, choosing a travel mug! All the players in our mystery, including "Lola" in Thailand, received an "Express Yourself" T-shirt! More Pictures Here!

Solve the mystery of "The Diva's Demise" starring, long distance from Thailand, Vanessa Henderson in the posthumous role of Lola LaPoufe!. Also starring Nick Goodhand, Ryan Sherman, Daniel Tucker, Alicia Chagnon and Brook Wagner. You'll watch our suspects, view the crime scene and then question the suspects to find out "whodunit"! Refreshments will be served, and you'll find out what else is happening this summer at SPLAT! (Or you could just look to the right as the whole schedule is there!)

I just put the performances from August 2008 Open Mic Night - each is saved individually, and don't forget The Time Warp! Watch it quick before Google removes it! A Youtube search of 'fernpenelope' will find 'em!

My apologies to Cadee, Kyle, Jen . . .
