Today At SPLAT

We're going to continue developing our balloon twisting skills - we'll make ocean/sea related creatures to display in the Children's area.

I will introduce What's the Question, our favorite game, to the new SPLATters. The theme today is pirates! And I've found a great, treasure-related, website for you to explore.

If time, we'll check out online Battleship games and compare them.

Don't forget your Creative Challenge! "What's that?" you ask? Find out at SPLAT!

And Prizes are Displayed for Reading Tub Club!

Thanks to Barnes and Noble we have two Twilight T-Shirts and two Wall Scrolls, plus we'll be giving away the poster that hangs over Teen Fiction. We are also giving away one Coby Camcorder and an 8 G memory card, three MP3 players, three 4G Flash Drives, Full Metal Panic anime and novel (yes, novel, not manga!), five thermal "Make Waves at Your Library" mugs and numerous T-Shirts. You can get an entry to the drawing two ways: become a Reading Tub Club member and turn in book reviews, or complete the weekly Creative Challenge (no RTC membership required).

SPLAT Report

We held the first Senior SPLAT of the summer on Thursday, June 10. Morgan and Cage got to play a bit with the camcorders. Team Anime Maniacs won What's the Question - Splish SPLAT Sea - or was it the Garden Gnomes who won?? Brownies were DEVOURED. Ed won the drawing, choosing a lovely black cinchpack for his prize. And we played a new game, Quelf, which was great fun!

And Billy is really excited about E3, which takes place all next week.

Reading Tub Club is up and running! Sign up at Teen Fiction, get your card, get reading!

For those of you who want to download this free video editor: we are learning to use Wax 2.0 as our video editor. Next SPLAT Thursday (the 24th) we'll play What's the Question - Video Recording.

SPLAT Tuesday will be our first SPLAT for 6th, 7th and 8th grades! Games, challenges, general silliness, picture taking, popcorn and invisible Kool-Aid are on the schedule!

Don't forget Friday, June 18 - we are raising money for research into childhood cancer. $5.00 gets you into our Game Day with lots of chances to play video games and win prizes!
