Reading Tub Club Ends

All Book Reviews for Reading Tub Club must be turned in by Monday, August 2 at 7:30 p.m.

A sundae making party will be held on Tuesday, August 10, at 1 pm, for those RTC members who turned in at least one book review or Creative Challenge. We will draw for the prizes at this time. If the prize ticket drawn belongs to a person who is there, he or she will be able to choose his or her prize. Prizes will be awarded in order of value to those who are not at the event, and those winners will be notified by phone. Winners can pick up their prizes after the party at the upstairs Reference Desk.

Last SPLAT!!!

Thursday, today, July 29, is the last 'official' SPLAT of the summer.

We were going to play Anime Jeopardy, which Daniel T. has spent many long hours preparing. Unfortunately, Daniel is working tonight. I'm tentatively scheduling the Jeopardy for the 12th of August: 5:45, IF Daniel is available. Be sure to check with me closer to that date.

Life In A Day - July 24th to be precise

Life In A Day is an experiment to make a feature film that documents life on earth over the course of a single day. On July 24, we're asking you to capture your world on video. Oscar-winning director Kevin Macdonald will edit the most compelling footage into a documentary that will premiere at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. Start watching to learn more.

What would you include in a video of your July 24th?

Today at SPLAT

Albert has created a video of his E3 review, using his green screen. We'll watch that and plan more green screen recordings.

More balloon work. We are attempting to create sea-ish creatures for Deb to hang in the children's area - we could do some seagulls and maybe attempt the starfish. We'll watch the video for the hammerhead shark and get very humble about our abilities . . .

WTQ - we are repeating Tuesday's Pirate WTQ. The game will be run by Albert and Samantha.

Our internet site is Oak Is - oops, never mind 'til later . . .

Our videos to watch will be coming from 5min.com.

We have two Minute to Win Its to try - Nutstacker and Bite Me (if the smaller bags work) . . .
