Zombie Walk Details and Requirements

1. Meet at the library, in your Zombie clothes, to get your make-up, at 1 p.m. Remember, old clothes as the red food coloring stains. (But I think I got the stains out of my gray pants!) No signed permission slip, no makeup, no walk, no OTB for you, sorry.

(Didn't get a permission slip. Copy this!)

On Tuesday, June 26, at SPLAT, we will be making ourselves up like zombies. We will then take a Walk downtown to Our Town’s Brewin’ for some special zombie treats. We will also offer anyone who is interested the opportunity to get their picture taken with Zombies at the cafĂ©.
This involved using red food coloring in a variety of mediums: water, corn syrup, etc., to make makeup and costumes.  RED FOOD COLORING WILL NOT COME OFF – IT WILL DYE SKIN TEMPORARILY. We will use cold cream first to minimize skin dying.
SPLAT teens have been told to provide old clothes that can be ripped and stained for their costumes. Ripping and dirty-ing before coming to SPLAT is recommended. (We will bloody them here at the library.)
Questions or suggestions: call Jill at 419-547-7174 (library phone)
PERMISSION IS REQUIRED -  PLEASE KEEP THIS INFORMATION AND SIGN AND DATE BELOW. This must be returned on or before June 26.  Thanks, Jill

________________________________________________________ has my permission to participate in the Zombie make-up and Walk – I am aware that staining may occur on the clothes he/she wears for the event and also on her/his skin.

2. Zombie Walk down Buckeye St. to Our Town's Brewin'  - and this does mean Walk, in character, like a Zombie. No touching people, cars, animals, buildings, anything that might get in our way . . .

3. Eat treats, take pictures with 'people'. We'll be done at 2:30, and you can be picked up at the cafe or travel - people speed - back to the library.

Zombification, Stage One

Bob will be given away at our Unicorns vs. Zombies Day July 3. Maybe. I like him an awful lot. He looks really cute, bouncing his little brainy head by my keyboard . . .

Permission Slips

for all three activities that require them will be available at the Teen Fiction section upstairs or at SPLAT activities. You must bring a signed permission form to the event to be able to participate.

Week 1

I failed. Epic. Epically. The icing was too hard, but our decorators managed to enjoy themselves anyway. Alex destroyed about three cupcakes. Allison and Chloe managed to work with the Twizzlers to create 'lovely' monsters.

Thursday we tried out the new games - we played the confusing Fluxx - it ended abruptly and we haven't decided if we liked it. We tried the Quelf antics game - it was pretty good except for the extra conditions that made it harder to play - but also funnier.

Zombie Walk

We have contacted Sue Gedert at Our Town's Brewin' about hosting us Zombies after we take our 'walk' downtown - she giggled at the idea that we provide "Get Your Picture Taken with Zombies" photo opportunity. We'll have to get a picture ready early to promote this. Start studying your favorite Zombies for ideas . . .

SPLAT 2012 Summer Schedule

I am still tweaking some of the activities - I knew I needed to avoid band and Cedar Point, but I forgot about the Washington Trip. So we are saving the 'big' activities for later.

Note! We are having  ongoing photography activities that will end with us making several photo related items the end of July. We are also going to be working on the bits and pieces for some of our craft items on different days, so the more programs you attend, the better shape you will be in . . .

Look on the right for the schedule.
